combat

Comparison of two trading cards, Ileydrian Lancer on the left and Bringer Monk on the right, with labels pointing to their Attack (ATK) and Defense (DEF) values, and indicating the winner in the middle.

Combat is 1v1 unless otherwise stated on a card and is decided by a simple stat check. During your Engage Phase, you will declare what actions your heroes will take, you must declare the entirety of your move at one time, once you have declared The Respond Phase begins.

In this example the Ileydrian Lancer has a higher ATK stat than Bringer Monk’s DEF stat, Lancer is the Winner and Bringer Monk is sent to the Infirmary.

Comparison of two game cards side by side with yellow arrows pointing from the left card to the right card, indicating the attack (ATK) value of 20 on the left card and the defense (DEF) value of 13 on the right card. The left card features an enlightened artist in a library, with a resilience ability and the number 7, while the right card features a battle engineer in an arena, with a shielded ability and the number 19.

In this example the Enlightened Artist has a Lower ATK stat than Battle Engineer’s DEF stat, Battle Engineer is the Winner. Both Heroes stay on the Field but Enlightened Artist remains activated until reset in it’s owner’s next Upkeep.

Two virtual trading cards from a game, with a yellow arrow pointing left labeled "WINNER". The card on the left is titled "Iron Monger" showing a woman in grey and beige attire pushing a wheeled container, with stats "15" at the bottom left and "14/14" at the bottom right. The card on the right is titled "2nd Regiment Private" depicting a man with green hair in yellow armor striking a pose, with stats "8" and "10/14". The left card is labeled "ATK" and the right one "DEF".

In this example the Iron Monger has an Equal ATK stat to 2nd Regiment Private’s DEF stat, In ties the Attacker wins so Iron Monger is the Winner and 2nd Regiment Private is sent to the Infirmary.

If your opponent choses not to block your attack, there are no heroes to block, or a Hero is using an ability that bypasses opponent defenses the damage strikes their HP equal to the ATK stat of all successful Attacks.
